Why should I release a book which is not even in my
language?
This is probably the first and foremost question that
might have come into your mind while reading the above para.
Yes, that is the core thing! Preservation of the rivers have
become a universal need. Saving a sadly depleted river
is no longer a small issue in a tiny part of Kerala, neither
is it just an issue in a mountain region in the suburbs of
Kathmandu. Neither is this just a small issue on the banks
of Danube in Europe. Rivers are to be protected,
preserved for the coming generations. This message has to
reach out to millions. This exactly is the reason why
we are urging volunteers in different parts of the world to
launch the book, irrespective of the language barrier.
Rivers have no barriers. Issues we are facing are the same,
just severity of dynamics sometimes varies from one
local situation to another. Else, it's all the same.
We believe such a campaign will trigger interest in locals
in different parts of the world to be part of a global
movement and prompt them to start looking into their own
backyards. We urge you to join us in this campaign.
After the 05 June 2010 launch in Malayalam language, the
book will be translated in various languages including many
Indian languages and English. Dates of these will be made
available on this site as soon as we finalise our plans.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to
write to us.
